Joan Bella Vigilante of Pine Bush, passed away peacefully at her home on September 24, 2024. She was 83, almost 84. Joan was born on October 17, 1940 in Chicago Illinois to the late John Wheeler and Celia Weiner. Joan was a First Grade Teacher for the E.J. Russell Elementary School in Pine Bush for 37 years and an avid 4-H leader for over 30 years. Joan is survived by her husband of 64 years Vincent Vigilante; sons, Frank A. Vigilante and wife Alexa of Pennsylvania, Vincent M.Vigilante and wife Gretchen of Massachusetts, along with 7 grandchildren Anastasia, Mike, Marin, Amanda, Laina, Eva, and Becca. A brother, John Wheeler and Wife Mary, Sister Gigi Kelso and husband Dan, Sister-in-Law Mary Vigliante Szydlowski and husband Frank. As well as several loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial Visitation will be held on October 2nd from 4:00PM to 6:00PM at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, Inc. 39 Orchard Street Walden, NY 12586 Services will be held at 6PM following the visitation at the funeral home.
