To Edwina and Eamon and all the extended family - We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Annie we have fond memories of her visits to Cooltha to visit Mam and we enjoyed listening to their reminiscing of their younger years before all of us came to be. They are all together now catching up and looking down over us.
May Annie rest in peace.

She was born Annie O’Shea, May the 2nd, 1933, Castlecomer, co. Kilkenny, Ireland. One of thirteen children.
Alana, precious and beautiful (Alainnabh)
Her mother called her “ my Alana”, which in Gaelic means “ precious and beautiful one.
Annie called herself Anne, we called her “Mummy”, “Mum”, “Mom” and sometimes “Mother”, but we never, ever called her “Ma”! Although, I think my brother Eamon got away with it!
She was a daughter, a sister, a wife, an auntie, a ganny and a great-ganny and our MOTHER!
But, I think her mother had it right all along….”my Alana”, “precious and beautiful “.
That was our mom, precious and beautiful in every way.
She was a refined, quiet lady. Gentle and soft always. Once in awhile, with a twinkle in her eye, she’d surprise us with some of her quick Irish wit and you couldn’t help but laugh!!!!
Her smile would ease any pain, her temper as soft and mild, and her touch as soft as a lamb. That was our Alana.
I can only imagine her faith and trust in our Dad when they took off from England to live in America. Their suitcases and the two of us in tow! Exciting, perhaps, uncertain, most definitely, yet here we are!
She was quietly strong as she stood by our Dad and he couldn’t have done it without her.
They are together now and we are here to celebrate this beautiful soul.
We will share our memories and all the love she had and shared with us. We will take care of each other and as she instructed “ we will protect the children. “
Our angel on earth, our Alana, has gone home. She will watch over us from above.
“They’ve put the kettle on for you mom. “❤️
