Obituary of Martin Francis Leszcz
Please share a memory of Martin to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Martin was reunited with his beloved wife, Nancy on January 26, 2017 after passing away at his home in Montgomery. The son of the late Joseph and Marianne Leszcz, he was born on May 29, 1958 in Anchorage, Alaska. As an “Air Force Brat”, Martin grew up all over the world. He graduated in 1976 from Dover High School, spending several years pursing his dream of being a “chef”. He settled in the 90s in Rhode Island where he and his wife, Nancy opened the “Taste of Curiosity” café and catering business in Barrington,RI, which they successfully ran until his wife’s unexpected demise in 2007.
Martin relocated to the Montgomery area in 2013. At present he worked at Shaggy Dog as a groomer’s assistant. Martin never met anyone who was not almost immediately charmed by his smile, laugh and funny stories. He attended Holy Name of Mary Assumption Church in Montgomery. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and volunteered yearly at Safe Harbors (Newburgh) annual Thanksgiving dinner for the residents of Cornerstone. Martin loved the spring and summer, when he could be at his garden in the T.O.M. garden in Benedict Park.
Martin will be sadly missed by his family, Michael and Mary Eileen Leszcz of Laurel, MD; Mark and Cathy Leszcz of Pasadena, MD; Matthew and Pam Leszcz of Fayetteville, NC; Madalaine and Harry How of Berlin, MD; Miya and Les Patrick of Barnstable, MA; Mary Lippincott of Montogmery, NY and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
