Rosemarie A. Abrahams of Maybrook, NY passed away at home on January 31, 2017. The daughter of the late Michael and Pauline Wilkinson Fayo, she was born on February 25, 1925 in Newburgh, NY. She was 91 years old. Rosemarie was the widow of the late Allen W. Abrahams, whom she married in October 22, 1950 at Sacred Heart Church, Newburgh, NY. She was an active member of the Maybrook Ladies Auxiliary of the Maybrook Fire Dept. and a member of the Church of the Assumption where she was a member of the Catholic Daughter of the Assumption as well as a religious instructor. She was also a member of the Maybrook Golden Link, former Clerk for the Town of Montgomery, and member of the Newburgh Fast Pitch Softball Hall of Fame. Her love for her family and friends was unconditional. Now we have an angel in heaven watching over us. Rosemarie is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Southern and her husband, Kevin of Maybrook; son, Allen Michael Abrahams and his wife, Stephanie of Ithaca; sister, Roseann Taylor of South Carolina; three cherished grandchildren: Megan Elizabeth, Ashley Rose and Dametri., and her niece, Michelle Fayo. She was predeceased by her brothers, Michael and James Fayo. A visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Friday, February 3rd at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St., Walden, NY. A mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9 AM on Saturday, February 4th at the Holy Name of Mary Assumption Church, Maybrook, NY. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Montgomery.
