John Chester Shea of Montgomery, NY, a retired police lieutenant for the Nassau County Police Dept. and a former security officer for the Town of Woodbury, passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2013 at Orange Region Medical Center, Middletown, NY. He was 90 years old. The son of Chester John and Elizabeth Warmuth Shea, he was born on September 9, 1923 in Flushing, NY.
John is the husband of Doris Haynes Shea, who survives him at home. Survivors also include his sister, Margaret Gerber of Great Neck, NY and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2013 from 4- 6 PM at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St., Walden, NY. Funeral services will be on Monday, October 7, at 11 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Orange County Veterans Cemetery, Goshen, NY.
