Frances "Fran" M. Pierce longtime resident of Walden, New York passed away peacefully on June 29, 2026 at Garnet Health Medical Center. She was 79 years old. Fran was born on July 20, 1946 in New York City, NY to the late Otto Schmitt and Frances McBride. She was a Supervisor for many years at Frontier Communications in Monroe, NY. Fran was a devout Christian. She was a longtime member of the Trinity Lutheran Church as well as the Freedom Road Bible Church. Fran was an animal lover and volunteered regularly at the Walden Humane Society as well as Will Spay. She fostered many feline friends over the years and helped give many strays a better quality of life with her warmth and generosity. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Lilley (Andrew) of Texas; grandchildren, Alyssa and Victor (Melissa); great Grandchildren, Victor and Alexander; and her precious Squeek.

Fran was predeceased by her daughter, Marie Coker and her mother Frances "Oma" Pierce.

A celebration of her life will take place on Saturday July 11, from 10-11 AM at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, Inc. 39 Orchard St. Walden, NY 12586.

A Funeral Service will be held on at 11 AM at the funeral home.

As per Fran's wishes her cremains will be buried under a tree in the Wallkill Valley Cemetery following the services at the funeral home.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Walden Humane Society or Will Spay.
