The family of Robert (Bob) Striano sadly announce his passing at the age of 89.

Bob retired to Tarpon Springs, Florida, but his family has been in the Wallkill, New York area since 1922. Robert is predeceased by his grandparents Albert and Helena Haessig, parents Louis and Helen (Haessig) Striano, and uncle and aunt Albert and Winnie Haessig. Bob graduated Wallkill High School in 1954 and proudly served his country as a member of the US Air Force and US Air Force Reserve. He was a car enthusiast and spent most of his career with Ford Motor Company. Still kind and easy going through his final days, Bob will be remembered as a wonderful father, grandfather, and friend who was always there to lend a hand when needed, give advice if asked, and tell it to you straight when warranted. He fully understood the Reba McEntire quote, “To succeed in life, you need three things: a wishbone, a backbone, and a funnybone”.

Bob is survived by his twin daughters Monique Striano Mariani (Ken) and Monica Striano Botimer (Ted), their mother Carol (Butwell) Striano, grandsons Alex and Nathan Botimer, and longtime friends Carole Lynch and Frank Lysaght.

A private farewell will be held by the family.

In Bob’s memory, donations can be made to the Castle Point Veterans Administration or Hudson Valley Hospice. The family would like to thank both organizations for their compassionate care.
