Leroy Peter O’Brien passed away on November 19, 2025 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Newburgh, NY. He was 67. Leroy was born on October 28, 1958 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Peter Leroy O’Brien and Joan McGarrigle. Leroy served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps. He always kept in touch with his Marine brothers. He was a mechanic for many years. He loved working on and sailing on his boat. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Leroy is survived by his loving wife Lena Y. (Laroche) O’Brien at home; children, Giovanni A. (“Gino”) O’Brien of Montgomery, Christina Y. Kelly (Sean) of Walden, Peter L. O’Brien (Michèle) of Stamford, CT., Jessica A. O’Brien (Reggie Dabalos) Vincenza, Italy, Christopher J. O’Brien of Montgomery, Steven R. O’Brien (Sarah) of Herndon, VA., Brandon N. O’Brien of Montgomery; brother, Patrick O’Brien (Amy) of Littleton, CO.; sisters, Joan O’Brien (John Silverman) of North Babylon and Margaret “Peggy” Casey of Dingmans Ferry, PA.; Eight grandchildren, Jaidyn, Harlow, Wyatt, Monique, Gavin, Grayson, Grant and Miles; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Stephanie Renee as well as his parents.
