Marie Elizabeth Terwilliger of Walden, NY entered into rest on August 18, 2025. She was 82. Marie was born on December 18, 1942 in Goshen, NY. The daughter of the late Earl(Paul) and Melas (Willis) Wright. She attended Goshen Central High School (Class of 1966). She had been employed by the Village of Walden Police Department as a dispatcher (1973-1980) and New York State Department of Corrections in Wallkill Correctional, after which she met the love of her life Fred. She retired from Southport Correctional in 2004 with 24 years of service. Marie was a breast cancer survivor for over 30 years. She wanted to give back so she volunteered at the Breast Cancer Center to support those fighting her same battle. Marie volunteered at the Mother Baby unit at Garnet Health Medical Center. Seeing babies being born brought her so much joy within. She was very involved in raising money for Cancer at the VFW in Walden. That is where she enjoyed being on the shuffleboard team. She and her family participated in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life walk in Pine Bush for many years. She was a social butterfly and enjoyed going out with friends, dancing and family gatherings around the holidays. She will be missed but never forgotten.

She is survived by daughters, Lisa (John) Giannino of Pine Bush, NY and Donielle Boat Lake (Duke) of Suffern, NY; step-daugther Kathleen McClintock (John); step-sons, Fred Terwilliger, Alan Terwilliger (Alan); grandchildren, Alannah Marie Giannino, Sean Michael Giannino, step-grandchildren, Nicole McClintock, Jessica McClintock, Peter Terwilliger, Amber Fausey, Tyler, Terwilliger, Tori Terwilliger and Tanner Terwilliger; Aunt Pauline Wells.

She was predeceased by the love of her life Fred Terwilliger to whom she was married to for 19 years; brother Joseph Wright and Uncle John Magee.

Memorial Visitation will be held on Sunday September 28, 2025 from 10-12 noon at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, Inc. 39 Orchard St. Walden, NY 12586
