Elaine M. Hopper of the Town of Newburgh, formerly of Walden passed away at home on August 19, 2025. She was 94. Elaine was born on April 29, 1931 in Walden, NY to the late Decatur and Adelaide Palen Penny. She was a secretary for many years at the NYS Department of Transportation and Department of Corrections in Wallkill, NY. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her sons, Kevin Hopper of Town of Newburgh, David Hopper (Barbara Rainey) of Wallkill and John Hopper of Ellenville; granddaughter, Olivia Hopper; several nieces and nephews.

Elaine was one of 17 children and was preceded by her siblings.
