Jill Conklin, 70, of Maybrook, NY, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on May 26th, 2025. Born on April 1, 1955, in Newburgh, NY, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Onnolee (Scott) Carmody.
A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Jill dedicated her life to family. After raising her children as a stay-at-home mom, she then served the Valley Central School District for over 25 years, including 13 years as secretary to the High School Principal. Her warm smile and caring nature touched countless lives throughout her life.
Jill embraced life's precious moments including cross-country adventures, spending time on the beach with her family, and peaceful evenings watching sunsets with her husband Brad. Her love for ice cream and cleaning her home was matched only by her love for her grandchildren who were the light of her life.
She is survived by her husband Brad Conklin; sons Bradley Conklin (Karen) and Kyle Conklin (Jennifer), both of Montgomery; brother Dale Carmody (Jorge) of Morristown, N.J.; and her cherished grandchildren Audrey, Adelyn, Brayson, Kashtyn, Elly, and Caroline, who will deeply miss their Nana. She also leaves behind seven nieces and nephews. Jill was predeceased by her parents and brothers Scott and Joseph "Jay" Carmody.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 30, 2025, from 4-8 PM at Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St., Walden, NY. Prayer services will follow at 8 PM. Cremation will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Valley Central Scholarship Council.
