Stephen J. McDonald Sr. of Wallkill, NY passed away on May 17, 2025 at St. Luke's Hospital, Newburgh, NY. He was 61. He was born on January 6, 1964 to John McDonald and Rosemary Maher in Westchester. He was married to Carol Resnick McDonald. Stephen was a painter for many years in Westchester County. He was a huge Miami Dolphins fan and loved his family very much. He will be dearly missed.

Stephen is survived by his loving wife Carol at home; sons, Stephen McDonald Jr. (Stephanie) of Wallkill and Gavin McDonald of Wallkill; daughters, Leda McDonald (Wesley Post) of New Jersey and Shaylene McDonald of Wallkill; brother, Sean McDonald (Molly) of Connecticut; sister, Maryann Calabrese (Steve) of Mahopac; grandchildren, Landen, Branden, Wesley, Gabriel, Caylee, Travis-John, Nyella, Aniya; Bailey and Zayden; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father John McDonald.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday May 28 from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, Inc. 39 Orchard St. Walden, NY 12586.

Prayer Service will be held on Thursday May 29 at 12 noon at the funeral home.

Burial to follow in the Modena Rural Cemetery.
